Winter in Sölden
As soon as a white coat covers the Ötz Valley, Sölden turns into a metropolis for winter sports. All guests can enjoy a perfect infrastructure that takes children and adults up to lofty heights in a safe and comfortable way. The beautiful slopes are perfectly traced and available in all difficulty levels. Breathtaking views over the Ötz Valley and the surrounding mountains invite winter sportsmen to explore the white landscape, for instance on the family friendly Giggijoch or on the spectacular Rettenbachferner Glacier.
Pure winter sport!
From the winter season 2010/11 the double-rope cableway to the Gaislachkogel is replaced by two of the most modern - architectonically and technically- cable cars in Austria. 119 gondolas take you in just a few minutes from the valley station to the intermediate station. Here an ultramodern three-rope cable car takes you uphill to the mountain station at 3,040 m above the sea level. The mountain station itself is one of the architectonical highlights of Sölden: an external transparent housing guarantees spectacular panoramic views both from the inside and the outside.
